Chapter Three
Costs of Becoming a Paralegal
Your primary cost of becoming a paralegal is going to be your education which can vary dramatically, depending on several factors. Cost will depend on what type of program you choose, whether you decide to earn an associate degree or a bachelor degree, and so on. Many paralegal students take out student loans to finance their education, which is why it’s critical to find out whether or not the schools you are considering offer financial aid.
You can learn more about financial aid options and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by clicking here. If you’re in an undergraduate program, you can apply for both federal student loans and federal grants. Graduate students can apply for federal loans but are not eligible for the federal grant program.
But, you’re not restricted to only applying for loans and for grants. There are a plethora of scholarships available if you take the time to research them. Scholarships can often be used to cover tuition, fees, books, and other school-related expenses.
